Health Nurse
The Public Health Nurse visits the school from time to time and is available for consultation with both parents and staff All new entrants are seen, but from then on it is only on a referral basis.
Dental Clinic
The children from Otama School are treated by the Dental Therapist in the clinic at Riversdale. Children travel as required for treatment.
Sick Pupils
All parents are asked to fill in a form giving Doctor's name and emergency contacts. If children become unwell at school, parents are notified by telephone, or if we are unable to contact them, the emergency number will be used.
Sick children are better at home, but no child will be sent home until an adult has been contacted. In the event of an accident requiring immediate attention, if we cannot contact parents, appropriate action will be taken (your doctor will be called etc.)
